sparger
A vessel with a perforated cover for sprinkling a liquid, especially in brewing.
A device for sparging, or introducing bubbles.
More importantly, the use of the delta tube prevents dangerous backsplashing of the agent that can occur when an impinging sparger is used improperly.
Where it comes from
From sparge + -er or equivalent. Compare French asperger (“to sprinkle”), Latin aspergere, spargere.
